Changes to free public planetarium shows:

  • Free public planetarium shows are now held every Friday at 7pm and 8:30 pm. Tickets are required. Ticketed guests that are not at the planetarium 10 minutes before show time will have their seats released to walk-in guests.
  • Free 'Young Astronomer' shows are now offered one Saturday morning a month.  These shows are geared towards children under 10 and their families.  Tickets are required. Ticketed guests that are not at the planetarium 10 minutes before show time will have their seats released to walk-in guests.

 Please see our FAQ for information about what to expect at planetarium shows. Public shows are free and open to everyone. Due to recent interest we recommend you reserve seats early.

There wil be no show on November 24th, due to the American Thanksgiving holiday.

Science Under the Dome returns Wednesday October 11th at 7pm in the Planetarium.  Join us as Professor Jon Carroll presents 'Drones and Social Science: the sky's the limit!'.  Reservations are required for this free monthly lecture series, RSVP now.


The Wayne State University Planetarium is pleased to present planetarium shows for the WSU community of students, faculty, and staff; K-12 school groups; Math & Science Centers; special interest groups and community organizations; and, the general public.
