Professor Paul Karachi has been elected as a member of the Wayne State Academy of Scholars

Founded in 1979, the Academy of Scholars recognizes outstanding scholarship and creative achievement among faculty members at Wayne State University. Election to the Academy is a rigorous process, and is the highest recognition that may be bestowed upon faculty by their colleagues. Dr. Karchin has a PhD in Physics from Cornell University. His research field is experimental high-energy particle physics. He has been at Wayne State since 1985. Before coming to Wayne State, he was an Associate Professor at Yale University from 1991-95, and an Assistant Research Physicist at UC Santa Barbara from 1983-86.
