Science Under the Dome: Trends in Women and Minority Representation in Science and Engineering

The demand for science and engineering-related employees has been increasing steadily and all indicators point to continued growth due to a rise in jobs related to new technologies and the increase in the number of baby boomers retiring within the next 15 years.

Wayne State's Dr. Maria Madalena Ferreira, associate professor and coordinator of the Science Education Program in the College of Education, will discuss trends related to the percentage of graduate degrees awarded to women and minorities in science and engineering in the past 20 years.
