Public Planetarium Shows
Free public planetarium shows are held on Friday nights at 7pm and 8:30 pm.
The Wayne State Planetarium presents public planetarium shows on a regular basis. Our public shows are presented at 7 PM and 8:30 pm on most Friday evenings throughout the semester. 2/3 of public show seats are reservable, 1/3 are available for walk-ins at the door. Ticketed attendeees should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the show. After this time unclaimed seats will be reserved to walk-in members of the public. Our planetarium holds 60 people. If you are interested in bringing a large group, we recommend you contact us to reserve the planetarium for a private show.
Free Young Astronomer shows, geared towards children under 10 and their families, are held on the second Saturday of the month at 11am.
The Wayne State Planetarium welcomes astronomers of all ages! Our Saturday morning shows last about one hour and are geared towards a younger audience. While children are welcome at our Friday evening shows as well, Saturday morning content are specifically designed with the younger astronomer in mind. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 2/3 of public show seats are reservable, 1/3 are available for walk-ins at the door. Ticketed attendeees should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the show. After this time unclaimed seats will be reserved to walk-in members of the public.
